2021 04 22 Where can we find Orchids & plants for sale in Oahu?
During this Covid time, Orchid shows and plant sales are cancelled. So bunch of people asked, "Where can we find good quality Orchids and other plants to buy?"
You can go to home improvement stores, supermarkets, etc., and they do have decent plants. But the hidden gem is ALOHA STADIUM SWAP MEET!
Try this coming Sunday, April 25th, 2021. Come early in the morning if you can, as the good plants go fast! Section 9 ~ 12, rows A & B (close to fence line border to the stadium) will have plenty of plant sellers.

Hi Aiea Orchid Club Members. You will have an opportunity in the next two weeks two visit two premier orchid nurseries on the island. On Tuesday, November 3, the Kunia Orchid Society (KOS) will be hosting a tour of S&W Orchids in Waianae. Then on Wednesday, November 11, the Honolulu Orchid Society (HOS) will be visiting H&R Nurseries in Waimanalo. The tours will be conducted virtually via Zoom Video Conference. KOS and HOS have invited Aiea Orchid Club members to join them on the tours.

2020 March Newsletter
This newsletter is being sent for information purposes only. The March 23 meeting has been cancelled as previously announced.
The Kunia Orchid Show and the Windward Orchid Show have both been canceled because of the virus pandemic.
We miss you all, but we'll see you again soon, to enjoy beautiful orchids together, so don't worry! It's the perfect time to stay home and take care of your plants, pull out weeds (which is probably way overdue), etc. and do things at home which you procrastinated for all these years while busy socializing outside.
I got to rearrange a few things in the kitchen, went through some drawers and threw out things I don't even know why I still had, and fixed things I should have long time ago. So, we can be active even at home. Tai Chi or Yoga in your living room? Way to go!

2020 03 17 March & April General Meetings CANCELLED, Silent Auction Postponed
The general meeting which was scheduled for Monday, March 23 is cancelled. Because of the corona virus, any gathering of 50 or more people is discouraged.
The Silent Auction scheduled in April is also postponed for the time being and will move to a later date. The April general meeting is also cancelled. President Kumano will keep checking to see if our June show can go on as scheduled. He will advise everyone if any changes occur.

2020 03 13 Windward Orchid Show CANCELLED
It is so sad to let you know that due to coronavirus concern, this year's Windward Orchid Show, which was scheduled for March 20 to 22, 2020, has also been cancelled. Better safe than sorry. Orchids will bloom again, and we'll have many more shows, if not this time. So keep smiling and smell the flowers, and don't forget to wash your hands. :)
