Here are some pictures of HOS's display at today's Ward Village Bloom Garden & Art Festival. It is the first HOS orchid show in Oahu in nearly 2 and half years, and it was so beautiful, so nice to see!! (Not to mention how great to see some of the orchid enthusiasts in person!) If you missed today, do not worry, it will be open again tomorrow, April 16, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come & enjoy the beautiful orchids, say hi at the HOS table, and shop at the various vendor tables.

Here is an message from Jan T.:
Happy spring ... it's time for an orchid show!
Please submit your blooming plants for HOS judging on Thursday, between 9-11 am at the Ward Center. Pick up is on Saturday after 4 pm. This orchid judging event is open to the public. You don't need to be an HOS member to submit plants. If you are able to assist with set-up, please contact the numbers listed on the flyer below. Several Kunia members will be vendors at this Bloom event too. Even if you don't have plants for judging, we hope you will stop by to visit and see the display!

Matthew McKnight is our featured speaker for our February General Membership Meeting. Matthew grew up on a green onion farm in Waianae, Oahu and collected all kinds of plants as a kid. At the age of 9 years old he saw a beautiful Dendrobium hybrid and that began his love for orchids. Today, his collection consists of a variety of plant species from around the world. His passion is to educate and encourage others to collect more orchid species. We welcome Matthew to share his knowledge of the “The World of Orchid Species” that YOU can grow great in Hawaii.
