HOS Librarian and member of the Board of Trustees Jed Smith will share his early interest in orchids and introduce us to some of the native orchids of Minnesota, including the State flower! Yes, orchids grow in Minnesota, too! Growing in different habitats and being able to survive the bitter cold winters, these are not your normal store-bought orchids.

If you missed today, do not worry, it will be open again tomorrow, April 16, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Come & enjoy the beautiful orchids, say hi at the HOS table, and shop at the various vendor tables.

HONOLULU ORCHID SOCIETY GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

Date: Wednesday, February 9, 2022
Time/Place: 7:00 p.m. through Zoom Video Conference
Program: ”The World of Orchid Species”

Matthew McKnight is our featured speaker for our February General Membership Meeting. Matthew grew up on a green onion farm in Waianae, Oahu and collected all kinds of plants as a kid. At the age of 9 years old he saw a beautiful Dendrobium hybrid and that began his love for orchids. Today, his collection consists of a variety of plant species from around the world. His passion is to educate and encourage others to collect more orchid species. We welcome Matthew to share his knowledge of the “The World of Orchid Species” that YOU can grow great in Hawaii.
