2014 Honolulu Orchid Show Coming up! - October 10~12

Below is from HOS website

The 2014 Honolulu Orchid Society Show is less than a month away.  Show co-chairs Williette Wong and Ben Sills are working hard to make this one of the best shows that the Society has had over the last several years.  Dubbed as the 75th Diamond Jubilee Orchid Show and Plant Sale, Williette and Ben are tinkering with ideas to improve attendance and interest.  The Show will be held from October 10 through October 12 at the Washington Middle School Cafeteria.  Show hours are shown on the poster below.  Society members and friends who wish to help at the Show should contact Williette at 488-2262.  More updates will follow.
The eye-catching poster was designed by Inez Brunson.

2014 07 24 no more FACEBOOK post

Very disappointing and unfortunately, some bad guy hacked into my AOC email and sent out bunch of SPAM emails.  Sorry if you received it, please don't open or click on the link, and simply delete.  Even if you opened it, you shouldn't have any serious damage other than just nuisance.

Facebook is the suspected source of this problem, and as this is the second time, we decided to stop using Facebook.  We'll still keep this blog site open, so please connect with Aiea Orchid Club here.  Sorry about the inconvenience.

2014 07 19 Ewa Orchid Show!

Orchid Carnival!!  Thanks Roy, Sheila, and Clem, it was a lot of fun.  AOC won the first prize on display. Great job, everyone!  Calvin K received a merit award, George & Judy have their usual huge plants (and awarded), Scott had his second ever award (happy as a clown), etc. etc.  Like Clem was jokingly calling "Ewa Succulent Society", there are bunch of succulent vendors (smiley familiar faces from the real Succulent Society), which was different and interesting.  Scored plastic trays @ $1 a piece.  Even won a door prize on the ruffle. Way to go, EOS!
